Symantec MD takes SNIA chair

Fran Foo | November 27, 2008

SYMANTEC Australia managing director Craig Scroggie has been appointed the new chair of the Storage Networking Industry Association Australia-New Zealand.

Mr Scroggie replaces CA's Jacob Van der Eyk who stepped down last week after a three year tenure, SNIA said.

"I'm excited to have the opportunity to lead the association on the next phase of its growth," Mr Scroggie said in a statement.

"We have a very strong board who I look forward to working with, and a compelling value proposition to offer our members and the wider storage community as we extend our strategic plan.

"I am determined that we continue to grow our membership and provide the professionals in our region with the highest quality education and independent content to assist them in adopting new technology to manage their business data."

The non-profit SNIA ANZ comprises the who's who of the storage world; memberships include vendors, end-users and channel partners.

Amongst its members are National Australia Bank, Hitachi Data Systems, EMC, IBM, Alphawest and Acronis.
